Artist's Comments

I have a sketchbook from which I've scanned a few of my brief works, this one was inspired on the inside sleeve picture of the CD from Bjork's greatest hits...I love her songs quite a bit!!... :XD: but instead of the mummy compositon, I decided to change my sketch and I thought of a poem to write underneath...also, maybe not too noticeable but I tried to play with the hair to make it look like two doves embracing each other..who knows? this might be the start for a future surrealistic work in the near future  ..I would say this is a hybrid...because a lot of times I see both the poem and image I'd like to go with it... :)

this is awesome dude! Excelent work on the sketch and a great poem! I particularly like how the word 'for' is scratched out, a nice touch. It probably wasn't intentional but it adds a certain realism to it that compliments the piece. Sort of a wound that gives us a glimpse inside the creative process... Maybe I'm over analysing this 'for' thing, but to me it really makes the piece and gives it purpose and meaning on a whole new level. I also dig Bjork, rock on dude :headbang:

Thanks man!...you noticed that huh?...yep it was a word i guess that i didn't erased..but it's interesting your outlook, I guess adding to like on-the-fly way that this words were written...hehe...sometimes it's like the muse is far and gone...and then suddenly it comes like in jolts of excessive speed...aka the 2fast2furious effect perhaps  Bjork has a lot of interesting music....like that song of it's Oh soquiet...not to mention the one where they made that video of the two female-looking robots..i think it's the song of all is full of love...som'like that 'nyway... thanks for checking out this rant :headbang:

I'm too sleep deprived right now to form a coherent reply, but you mention Bjork videos, and I thought of a DVD you should DEFINITELY check out if you haven't already; 'The Work of Director Michel Gondry'. Hes done several videos for Bjork and he's a total fucking eccentric genius!

this is a really great sketch.. i really like the unrefined lines and the flow of it.. i also have to say awesome job with the writing.. not only are the words excellent, but it's hard as shit to write in perspective.. and you did it damn well. very well done! this is good work :)

:glomp: spasibo, Katerina!!! ;) (don't know if you know or remember a few Russian words still, but another DA artist buddie teached me that's "thank you" in such language, :giggle: ) ... I'm really glad you liked this sketch. I must say that on a personal note some of Bjork's songs seem to capture the atmosphere and feel I wanted to recreate on my drawing. Now that I'm learning to use more color pencils and other media, I might do this one on a painting perhaps? anyways..I appreciate your thoughts :)

I do not mind using colors agressively
as long as the injuries remain on the canvas :plotting:
